Storing your Scissors

Scissors are supplied in cases or protective packaging for a reason — and that protection should continue throughout their working life.

Where possible:

• Keep each scissor in its own compartment
• Protect the blades and tips from contact with other tools
• Keep your scissors clean
• Oil them regularly and appropriately
• Store them somewhere dry
• Avoid leaving them loose on work surfaces
• Take care when putting them down, particularly around the delicate tips
• Keep them away from products that could damage the metal, finish or edge

Your scissors are tools of your trade and an investment in your work. A little care can save you money on unnecessary sharpening, servicing and replacement.

Maintenance Tips

Professional scissors are precision instruments and should be treated with care.

Keep them clean and dry and use an appropriate scissor oil as recommended. Humidity and moisture can affect both the materials and the cutting edge, while some products used in the salon or workplace may damage the finish or components.

It is also important to consider what you are cutting.
